Standards of Practice

The promises every NBPSWA member makes.

These standards define what clients, families, and employers can expect from a verified NBPSWA member — and what the association holds its members to. They apply equally to certified PSWs and to associate members working toward certification.

01

Person-Centred Care

Care is shaped around the individual — respecting dignity, autonomy, culture, and language at every encounter.

02

Safety & Competence

Members practice within their scope, follow evidence-based protocols, and continuously update their skills.

03

Confidentiality

All client information is handled with strict privacy under provincial and federal law.

04

05

Professional Conduct

Members act with honesty, integrity, and respect toward clients, families, colleagues, and the public.
